TREE TRIMMING REMAINS UNDER SCRUTINY

In a letter to PURA Chairman Arthur House, Representative Mike D'Agostino said, "UI has not yet rolled out it tree-trimming strategy for the more populated area in Hamden, including Spring Glen, Ridge Hill and Whitneyville. You can be assured that enhanced tree-trimming efforts in those neighborhoods will generate objections when UI seeks to cut back or remove entirely healthy trees simply because they are within eight feet of a power line. I and others in Hamden remain concerned that the utilities still approach vegetation management with a default plan to clear cut all tall growing trees (within that zone).”
