REP. DILLON LAUDS FUNDING FOR BEVERLY HILLS HOMEOWNERS

Representative Patricia Dillon (D-New Haven) announced today that a project that she has been backing will receive major funding allocated in the bond package passed by the Connecticut General Assembly during special session.

A grant-in-aid in the amount of $2,000,000 is coming to Beverly Hills homeowners in Woodbridge to cover for structurally damaged homes due to the sinking of land located in the immediate vicinity of the West River. Through the years, homeowners around Beverly Road have been struggling with significant property damage as their homes continually sink.

“I am glad to see that we came together and acted favorably on this bonding package that includes funding for Beverly Hills,” Rep. Dillon said. “Residents in this area are in serious need of some relief as they battle with this critical situation. This is a step in the right direction and I am delighted to see this coming.”

The bonding bill must now be signed into law by Governor Rell and she is responsible for ultimately allocating the funding for this project through the State Bond Commission.

Representative Dillon was first elected to the General Assembly in 1984. She is an Assistant Majority Leader and serves on the Appropriations, Higher Education and Judiciary committees.
