DILLON SEEKS PILOT FUNDS FOR NEW HAVEN PUBLIC HOUSING

Representative Patricia Dillon (D-New Haven) is looking to amend the proposed budget to ensure New Haven receives Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) funding for all newly-purchased New Haven Housing Authority residential properties. The 187 residential homes of scattered-site public housing may not be fully eligible for PILOT funds.

"New Haven is trying its best to maximize its limited property tax base and the city depends on PILOT to make ends meet. I will not sit back while my city is short-changed. I will draft an amendment to the budget and fight for New Haven's rightful share of PILOT," Rep. Dillon said.

Representative Dillon was first elected to the General Assembly in 1984. She is an Assistant Majority Leader and serves on the Appropriations, Higher Education and Judiciary committees.
