FUNDING FOR SINKING HOMES HEADING TO NEW HAVEN
Bond Commission to approve $2m grant 12/10

Representative Patricia Dillon (D-New Haven) announced the State Bond Commission is expected to approve funding for New Haven’s “sinking homes.”

The homes, located near the West River in the Beverly Hills section of Westville, are experiencing cracked and sinking foundations, garage floors and basements. Portions of the structures are separating as the homes continue to sink into the ground.

Rep. Dillon said, “I am thrilled Governor Rell and House Speaker Donovan listened to the homeowners and agreed to release this funding. This will help people save their homes.”

The grant-in-aid in the amount of $2 million will aid homeowners in Westville and Woodbridge.

The State Bond Commission meets Friday, December 10th at 10:30 a.m. in room 1-E of the Legislative Office Building in Hartford.
