100 YEARS OF EDUCATION AT EDGEWOOD

Rep. Pat Dillon celebrated 100 years of quality neighborhood education at Edgewood School. Rep. Dillon joined teachers, administrators, staff, alumni and neighbors at the dinner recognizing the school’s centennial.

“Edgewood School is a testament to the quality teachers, principals, staff and activist parents who have dedicated themselves to the students of this neighborhood school,” Rep. Dillon said.

According to the Edgewood School Centennial Committee, the school derives its name from Donald Grant Mitchell’s “Farm at Edgewood”. In 1911 Edgewood School opened on the former farmland. It underwent a massive renovation in the late 1990s that received state funding through an amendment authored by Rep. Dillon.

Edgewood School is now a magnet school serving approximately 460 students in grades kindergarten through 8th grade.
