MCCARTHY HELPED ON SINKING HOUSE ISSUE

Rep. Pat Dillon was happy to hear of President Barack Obama’s choice of Gina McCarthy to head the federal Environmental Protection Agency.

Dillon says McCarthy was an ally to families in the Beverly Hills section of New Haven whose homes have been sinking, causing damage and financial burdens.

McCarthy served as Connecticut’s top environmental official until leaving in 2009 for the EPA.
