GOVERNOR SIGNS REP. PAT DILLON'S DIRT BIKE BILL

This new bill, now law, will give police a new tool to crack down on illegal riders. We have increased the fine to a maximum of $1000 for the first offense. Fines increase to a maximum of $1500 then $2000 for subsequent offenses.

Penalties are not the only tool for making our streets safer – enforcement is key – but they are important.

New Haven police recently arrested 15 dirt bike riders over the course of their "Operation Bike Life" – a 10 week operation to crack down on dirt bikes and ATVs. Fox CT recently featured the story.
