The legislature is holding a hearing Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in room 2-E of the Legislative Office Building on sexual assaults at UConn and other college campuses.
We expect to hear from victims as well as UConn officials and law enforcement. We will also hear from representatives of the state's private colleges and universities and the Connecticut State Colleges & Universities (the CSU's and community colleges).
The Legislature is not looking to weigh in on the guilt or innocence of those involved in these incidents – that is for the courts. Our concern is the safety of young people on the state's college campuses and that schools must take all allegations of sexual assault seriously and treat victims with respect and care.
