UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS END FOR MANY

Benefits for the long term unemployed have stopped because of gridlock in Washington.

If you or someone you know – a relative, neighbor, or member of your congregation – needs assistance, or if you can volunteer for a local pantry or kitchen, information is available. Many were laid off through no fault of their own, have no experience navigating the system, and may be anxious about paying for rent, food, and heat this winter.

Below are links to resources for eligibility for SNAP, state information, and local food pantries.

End Hunger Connecticut's confidential screening tool can help you learn if you are eligible. You can also call 2-1-1 for referrals.
