Rep. Patricia Dillon

March 7, 2014

PROTECT OUR CHILDREN!

Young teens are still developing, and should be protected from exposure to toxic chemicals. Rep. Dillon has signed on as cosponsor of SB 46, AN ACT CONCERNING PESTICIDES ON SCHOOL GROUNDS.

Section 10-231b of the general statutes is where you will find our state’s ban on pesticides on school grounds. The current ban does not apply to high schools.

Of the 48 most commonly used pesticides in schools:
81% are irritants
69% are neurotoxins
53% are linked to reproductive effects
50% are linked to cancer
69% are linked to kidney and liver damage
