REP. PAT DILLON HEARS CONCERNS ABOUT RENT, FOOD PRICES, TRAFFIC SAFETY AT AGING COMMISSION MEETING

Rep. Dillon sat with Commissioner Migdalia Castro to hear reports from city Director of Transportation, Traffic & Parking Doug Hausladen, City Engineer Giovanni Zinn and vigorous questions from constituents.

As part of her ongoing outreach to seniors, Representative Patricia Dillon participated in a New Haven Commission on Aging meeting to hear concerns of Westville seniors and citywide commission members, and briefings from city officials about progress on traffic safety issues.

“It's exciting to hear directly how state programs are working. I always learn,” said Rep. Dillon. The meeting was held at 120 Valley Street.

Issues discussed during the well-attended meeting included traffic calming, safety on Valley Street, rent rebates and the cost of food.

“Seniors are worried about safety, the rent rebate, and very concerned about food prices in the voucher program. I have directed my office to research this further and am grateful to all for sharing their views,” Rep. Dillon said.
