REP. GENGA PROMOTED TO VICE CHAIR
OF THE LEGISLATURE’S EDUCATION COMMITTEE

State Representative Henry Genga (D-East Hartford) has been named Vice Chair of the legislature’s Education Committee by House Speaker James Amann (D-Milford).

The committee has cognizance of all matters relating to the Department of Education; local and regional boards of education and the substantive law of collective bargaining covering teachers and professional employees of such boards; vocational rehabilitation; the Commission on the Arts; and libraries, museums and historical and cultural associations.

“As a teacher, I am honored that Speaker Amann has appointed me to serve as Vice Chair of the Education committee,” Rep. Genga said. “I look forward to continue serving my constituents and working with my colleagues in the legislature again.”

Additionally, Rep. Genga was appointed to the Appropriations committee and will keep his appointment to the Energy and Technology Committee.

“Rep. Genga’s experience in education is a valuable asset to the committee. I know Henry is ready to bring his expertise to the table, roll up his sleeves and get the job done.” Speaker Amann said.

Rep. Henry Genga is serving his second term in the General Assembly representing East Hartford’s 10th Assembly District.
