REP. GENGA APPOINTED ASSISTANT MAJORITY LEADER

State Representative Henry Genga (D-East Hartford) was appointed by incoming Speaker of the House Christopher G. Donovan to serve in the position of Assistant Majority Leader.

Incoming Speaker Donovan said, "Rep. Genga is a talented lawmaker and I look forward to working with him this coming session."

"I am thankful to incoming Speaker Donovan for this important appointment and for giving me an opportunity to serve on this new capacity. I look forward to the new challenges as we prepare to convene the legislative session in January," Rep. Genga stated.

The entire membership of the General Assembly will be sworn into office on January 7 at the State Capitol in Hartford during the opening day ceremony of the 2009 Session.

Rep. Genga was recently re-elected to his third term representing the 10th Assembly District in East Hartford.
