EAST HARTFORD HEALTHCARE FACILITY
RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS NATIONAL AWARD

Hartford – State Representative Henry Genga (D-East Hartford), today announced that a member of the Connecticut Association of Health Care Facilities (CAHCF), Riverside Health & Rehabilitation Center (Riverside) of East Hartford, has been recognized as one of the 2009 recipients of the Step II National Quality Award.

This prestigious award is presented by the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). The award is given to organizations that have continuously improved their quality of service.

"I commend Riverside Health & Rehabilitation Center for this important recognition and congratulate Karen Chadderton and the entire staff for the outstanding services they provide," Rep. Genga said. "We are very proud of this accomplishment and celebrate it with you."

This year 215 nursing and assisted living facilities from across the nation applied for this award and Riverside was one of 27 to earn it. Riverside Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center is one of 11 CAHCF member facilities operated in Connecticut by National Healthcare.

Rep. Genga is serving his third term representing the 10th District. He is Assistant Majority Leader, and a member of the Appropriations, Education; and Energy & Technology committees.
