Rep. Henry Genga (D-East Hartford) will host a forum March 6 at town hall to assist renters, homeowners and businesses who are interested in lowering their utility bills as well as achieving energy efficiency and conservation.

“Utility costs are going up and pose a serious problem,” Genga said. “This forum will help people gain a better understanding and knowledge about how they can reduce their energy costs.”

Officials from the state Clean Energy Finance and Investment Authority, the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, Connecticut Light & Power Co., Connecticut Natural Gas Co. and representatives from the heating oil and propane industries will be present to answer questions and discuss available energy programs.

The forum will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 6, in the town council chambers at town hall, 740 Main St. The forum also will be broadcast on the town’s local access television cable station.
