HOUSE SPEAKER NAMES GENGA DEPUTY MAJORITY WHIP
Also Appointed Vice-chairman Of Appropriations Committee

State Rep. Henry Genga has been appointed by House Speaker Brendan Sharkey to serve in the key position of Deputy Majority Whip in the House of Representatives.

In addition, Rep. Genga was named vice-chairman of the powerful Appropriations Committee and also chosen to serve as a member of the legislature’s Public Health, Education, and Program Review and Investigations committees.

“I look forward to working closely with Majority Leader Joseph Aresimowicz and Speaker Sharkey this legislative session,” Genga said. “I am honored and pleased to be appointed. I plan on keeping our state on the path of economic recovery, while protecting those who are most vulnerable.”

“As a leader within our caucus, Rep. Genga has the experience and ability to help improve the quality of life for everyone in Connecticut, while at the same time representing the interests of the families of East Hartford,” Speaker Sharkey said. “Henry will play a key role in moving our legislative agenda forward this session.”
