State Rep. Henry Genga (D-East Hartford) has been a member of the Connecticut state legislature since 2006 and is a retired East Hartford High School history teacher. A former member of the East Hartford Town Council, he also served the town as treasurer.
As a member of the Town Council in the mid-70s, "he was instrumental in the establishment of the emergency medical services provided by the East Hartford Fire Department," Publicity Chair Eileen Driscoll said.
The East Hartford Lions Club commemorated its 65th anniversary with a banquet fundraiser at the Marco Polo Restaurant on Saturday, April 11. The club was organized on Jan. 16, 1950, sponsored by the Hartford Host Lions Club. Club members got together recently to celebrate notable contributions to the community, to award scholarships and to honor some of its members.
