A great day for Danbury at today's state bond commission meeting: $1 million for renovations to the Richter House, $10 million for I-84 (exits 3-8), $4 million for the Danbury Branch RR, and $277,000 for capital improvements to 22 Orchard St. for the collaborative efforts of Family and Children's Aid (FCA) and the Centro Hispano.
Danbury lawmakers Rep. David Arconti and Bob Godfrey met with a large group of young constituents for Early Childhood Advocacy Day at the State Capitol supporting full implementation of establishing the Office of Early Childhood, which will be charged with delivering invaluable services to young children across the state.
Recently Ann's Place was visited by Connecticut DEEP Commissioner Dan Esty, Senator Mike McLachlan, Deputy Speaker of the House Robert Godfrey, Representative Joseph Taborsak and DEEP Communications Director Dennis Schain. The group toured our new facility and learned more about the services we provide to the cancer community. The incredible generosity and collaborative efforts of the construction trades industry and area donors in creating this special refuge for people living with cancer was highly visible. A special treat for the group was seeing the Phyllis Speidel Daffodil Garden, one section of the Marian & Hans Kretsch Meditation Gardens.
