REP. GONZALEZ ANNOUNCES GUARANTEE PROGRAM
FOR ENTERPRISES OWNED BY WOMEN AND MINORITY PEOPLE

State Representative Minnie Gonzalez (D-Hartford) announced the availability of a new guarantee program for micro enterprises owned by women and minority business people.

Rep. Gonzalez explained that the Legislature authorized the guarantee program which was spearheaded by Speaker of the House Moira Lyons.

Under the program, The State of Connecticut, Office of Economic and Community Development (CEDF) will provide a guarantee of 30% for loans up to $50,000 to women and minority borrowers. The guarantee program will give CEDF more latitude in underwriting loan applications.

"This is a positive program that could help women and minority business people," Rep. Gonzalez said. "Anyone interested should contact the Community Economic Development Fund."
