State Representative Minnie Gonzalez congratulated Appellate Court Judge Carmen Espinosa on her nomination to the Connecticut Supreme Court.
"I thank Governor Malloy for nominating Judge Espinosa, the first Hispanic, to serve on the Connecticut Supreme Court," Rep. Gonzalez said. "This is a milestone for Hispanics and for Latinas in particular. This nomination, along with the election of two Latino Senators shows our growing participation and influence in the political process."
Rep. Gonzalez added, "This is a great start toward addressing the relative lack of Hispanic representation at the upper levels of our courts. I look forward to the continued work toward a more representative Connecticut Judicial System."
Rep. Minnie Gonzalez represents the 3rd district in Hartford.
