State Representative Susan Johnson has been appointed by House Majority Leader Joe Aresimowicz to serve in the key position of Deputy Majority Leader of the House of Representatives.
"I look forward to working closely with Majority Leader Aresimowicz and Speaker Sharkey this legislative session," said Rep. Johnson. "I am honored and pleased to be appointed Deputy Majority Leader. I plan on keeping our state on the path of economic recovery, while protecting those that are most vulnerable."
"I am very pleased that Susan accepted her role as Deputy Majority Leader," said Aresimowicz. "Her past experience as a committee chair and vast knowledge of the legislative process makes her an asset to my team."
The entire membership of the General Assembly will be sworn into office on January 7th at the State Capitol in Hartford during the opening day ceremony of the 2015 session.
Rep. Johnson begins her 4th term serving the 49th House District.
