REP. ROJAS NAMED CHILDREN'S CHAMPION

Representative Jason Rojas was recognized as a “Children’s Champion” during a ceremony held Friday at the state Capitol.

Rojas, vice chairman of the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee and member of the Education Committee, received the recognition for showing a strong commitment to early childhood issues in his district and at the legislature.

“Rep. Rojas has been a champion for Connecticut’s children during his time in the legislature and he understands how important it is for a child to be healthy, safe and ready to learn,” said Maggie Adair, executive director of the Connecticut Early Childhood Alliance. “He has taken a special interest in grade-level reading and early literacy, making sure children acquire this important life skill.”

“As a father of three young children, I see firsthand the benefits of access to quality early childhood education. It is a critical investment in our children’s future,” Rojas said. “I’m honored to receive this recognition and want to thank everyone at the Connecticut Early Childhood Alliance for this award and for all the great work they do.”

The Connecticut Early Childhood Alliance is a statewide membership and advocacy organization committed to improving developmental outcomes in the areas of learning, health, safety and economic security for children ages birth to eight.
