REP. KEVIN RYAN RECEIVES FARM BUREAU’S
"LEGISLATOR OF THE YEAR" AWARD

State Representative Kevin Ryan has received the "Legislator of the Year" Award from Connecticut Farm Bureau. Each year the Connecticut Farm Bureau presents the award to a legislator who has worked with the agricultural community on an issue.

"I am honored to have received this award," said Ryan. "It brings me great pleasure to know that Connecticut Farm Bureau appreciates my efforts."

The Connecticut Farm Bureau is a non-profit membership organization. For nearly 80 years, the Farm Bureau has been promoting and preserving agriculture and protecting the rights of farmers and landowners.

Under a new law sponsored by Ryan last year, farmers participating in the Farmland Preservation program who sells their property to another farmer are now exempt from the real estate conveyance tax.

Representative Ryan represents the towns of Lebanon, Franklin, Bozrah, and Montville.
