REP. RYAN WELCOMES STATE GRANTS FOR LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENTS
Bozrah, Franklin and Lebanon Volunteer Crews to receive funding

State Representative Kevin Ryan welcomed the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection’S (DEEP) decision to award grants to local volunteer fire companies. Bozrah, Franklin and Lebanon will receive Volunteer Fire Assistance Grants courtesy of funding from the U.S. Forest Service. The Division of Forestry has been distributing these funds for over 25 years and during the past 10 years alone have distributed over $790,000 to requesting fire departments.

“Thank you to DEEP for recognizing small towns and our brave volunteers,” said Rep. Ryan. “Our towns are now safer places to work and live.”

The three departments receiving the grants are:

The Volunteer Fire Assistance Grants are competitive among small towns with populations of less than 10,000. The monies will go toward purchasing important fire protection gear and equipment, perform prevention projects and conduct training for volunteer fire department personnel.

Rep. Ryan is in his 10th term serving the 139th House District.
