REP. RYAN ANNOUNCES EXPECTED BONDING APPROVAL
FOR BRIDGE WORK IN MONTVILLE

Deputy Speaker of the House Kevin Ryan announced that the State Bond Commission is expected to approve funding for improvement and rehabilitation on a pair of bridges in Montville. The bridges span Fox Brook and will receive $2,665,000 for the upgrade. The State Bond Commission meets Friday, April 26, 2013 in Hartford.

“The bridge repairs make sense financially and economically. “Waiting to repair the bridges will cost taxpayers even more money and this properly maintained resource protects our infrastructure.”

The pair of bridges carry Oakdale Road over Fox Brook in Montville. The project will consist of the replacement of both bridges. Work is expected to begin in the spring of 2014 with project completion anticipated in the fall of 2014.

“State government is an important partner in the effort to strengthen communities across Connecticut,” said Governor Dannel P. Malloy. “Restoring infrastructure is a critical step toward improving commerce and the quality of life for residents—the bridge projects in Montville are an excellent example. Not only will this funding create jobs, but it will also improve travel conditions in the region.”
