REPS. RYAN, URBAN OPPOSE SCHOOL BASED HEALTH CENTER CUTS

Reps Ryan and Urban were pleased to stand alongside members from the Connecticut Association of School Based Health Centers and the Child and Family Agency of Southeastern Connecticut in support of School Based Health Centers (SBHC). Governor Malloy’s proposed budget would result in a $525,000 loss in grant funding for SBHC services in Connecticut schools According to the Child & Family Agency of Southeastern Connecticut, twenty-two communities in the state benefit from SBHC services.

School-Based Health Centers provide a wide-range of services for students regardless of a family’s ability to pay including mental health counseling and dental services.
