Rep. Kevin Ryan is pleased to see that a $475,000 Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP) grant has been awarded by Governor Malloy for improvements to the Montville Transfer Station that support the town’s environmental efforts.
“These dollars will improve access and safety at the transfer station. I’m working to support towns, like Montville, who are implementing forward thinking, recycling programs across the state.” said Representative Ryan. “This transfer station complements our ‘single-stream’ recycling program to ensure our environment is protected."
The current transfer station requires updates in order to bring the site up to code compliance which will in turn improve functionality of the site and ensure the town’s current practices remain effective.
