REP. WALKER APPOINTED TO NATIONAL COMMITTEE
POSTS BY HOUSE SPEAKER DONOVAN
State Representative Toni Walker has been appointed by House Speaker Christopher G. Donovan (D-Meriden) to serve on the Council of State Government's (CSG) Criminal Justice Board of Advisors for 2009-2010, and the National Council of State Legislatures Human Services and Welfare Committee.
"I would like to thank Speaker Donovan for these appointments," Rep. Walker said. "I am sure it will be a rewarding experience and I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to the committees."
The Council of State Government is headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky and helps state governments increase efficiency by identifying the best new and creative approaches to significant state problems.
"Toni is a tireless advocate for juvenile justice and is working on several related initiatives this legislative session," Speaker Donovan said. "As Chair of the Human Services Committee, her appointments complement her area of focus and I am sure she will be an asset to the committees."
Representative Walker represents New Haven's 93rd Assembly District. Rep. Walker Chairs the Human Services Committee and serves on the Appropriations and Judiciary Committees.
