OPPORTUNITY SHOULD KNOW NO BARRIERS

State Representative Toni Walker joined CT Voices for Children and the Connecticut Association for Human Services (CAHS) Monday for policy forum on the impact of poverty, race and education on a family's economic success. The discussion has held in the Old Judiciary Room of the State Capitol in Hartford.

Rep. Walker said, “Forums like this allow legislators and the public to hear and learn from different agencies, organizations, and Connecticut communities in order to foster the change we so need.”

Participants included legislators and policy advocates. Discussions focused ways to increase opportunities for economic success as well as specifically looking at Connecticut's declining and demographically-changing workforce.

Rep. Walker is House Chair of the Appropriations Committee.
