WALKER PUSHES FOR PUBLIC INVESTMENT IN WESTVILLE VILLAGE
Representative Toni Walker has sponsored legislation to improve walk-ability, safety and infrastructure in Westville Village.
An Act Authorizing Bonds of the State for Traffic Calming and Economic Development in Westville Village would provide grants for street lights, crosswalks and traffic calming measures to improve pedestrian traffic and access to local merchants. There are currently 400 jobs in that part of the Whalley Avenue corridor.
“This is an important investment in a vibrant New Haven neighborhood,” Rep. Walker said.
The legislation is also being sponsored by Rep. Pat Dillon (D-New Haven) and Sen. Toni Harp (D-New Haven).
