NEW HAVEN DISTRIBUTES $500,000 IN STATE GRANTS TO YOUTH VIOLENCE PREVENTION PROGRAMS

The state has invested heavily in education, anti-bullying and anti-violence programs. We are heading in the right direction but we must continue to work hard to steer youth to a better path and intervene early as a family and community.

New Haven is receiving a $500,000 grant from the state to fund:

• Youth Job Readiness, Training, and Certification
• Youth Leadership, Mentorship and Mediation
• Youth Violence Prevention Initiatives

According to the CDC, homicide is the number two cause of death of CT youths, right behind accidental death.
