Therapy animals visit people who need comfort or comany in hospitals, nursing homes, and other facilities. There are three different types of services these animals provide.
Animal Assistet Activity
Handlers and companion animals visit on a social level with people of any age who would like to interact with a pet.
Animal Assisted Therapy
A therapist es tablishes goals adn measures progress. Improvement of social, reading or verbal skills, range of motion, and attention span are just a few examples of goals that might be set.
Reading Education Assistance Dog
A specialized animal therapy program that improves children's reading skills by encouraging them to read out loud - to a dog.
