Hartford - Waterbury Representatives are pleased to announce approval by the State Bond Commission today of over $600,000 for various projects in Waterbury.
"These varied projects are important for creating jobs, alleviating the burden on the hardworking non-profits, improving school facilities and maintaining the city's infrastructure," said Rep. Jeff Berger. "I will continue to fight to ensure that Waterbury remains on the radar for state funding of local projects."
"I want to thank Governor Malloy and the entire State Bond Commission for their continued confidence in Waterbury," said Rep. Larry B. Butler. "These funds will create jobs while upgrading the facilities that serve our neighbors and educate our children."
"I am pleased to join a delegation with a proven track record of getting things done for our city," Rep. Victor Cuevas said. "I look forward to working with my colleagues to make sure Waterbury continues to be first with respect to state funding for important local projects."
Bond items were allocated as follows:
$465,115 for roof replacement and upgrades at the Department of Children and Families at 395 West Main Street that will create or retain approximately 8 construction related jobs.
$15,000 for alterations and improvements at W. F. Kaynor Technical High School.
$66,105 for non-profit child care providers for various alterations, repairs and improvements.
$61,500 for Connecticut Renaissance, Inc., a provider of mental health and addiction treatment for various alterations, repairs and improvements.
