Following an incident in Waterbury that resulted in a taser-related fatality, Rep. Butler proposed legislation that would bring some accountability to the use of the law enforcement tool. Additional training and creating a report following the discharge of the weapon would be required if this bill becomes law.
Considering a taser usually delivers enough volts to incapacitate its victim, the bill also requires a medical check-up for that individual.
