Hartford - Waterbury legislators are pleased to announce the approval by the State Bond Commission of various items in the City of Waterbury.
"Investing in our cities must be a priority if we are going to reinvent our economy," said Governor Malloy. "These projects will help the city of Waterbury revitalize its neighborhoods, laying the foundation for future growth and success."
"I thank Governor Malloy for his support of infrastructure and education facility improvements," Rep. Jeff Berger said. "These projects are distributed throughout the city and benefit many of our constituents."
"I am thrilled to see the Urban Revitalization pilot program that I spearheaded last year has now become a reality with the Gaffney Place and allocation to the Connecticut Housing Investment Fund. There has not been a better time in the past twenty years to be the Co-Chairman of the Housing committee when you see Governor Malloy's commitment to housing as demonstrated with the above projects and the new Warner-Garden development. I have enjoyed working with all of Waterbury's state delegation on these projects and appreciate the manufacturing equipment dollars for Naugatuck Valley Community College," Rep. Larry B. Butler said.
"This is the result of a delegation working together to make sure Waterbury has a voice in Hartford," Rep. Victor Cuevas said. "I look forward to continued work with my legislative colleagues in upcoming sessions to bring the money home."
The bonding was approved when the State Bond Commission met Friday, June 21 in the Legislative Office Building in Hartford.
