Representatives Butler and Berger welcome the anticipated approval of funding for Walsh School and Kaynor Technical High School when the State Bond Commission meets this Friday.
Rep. Butler, the House chair of the Housing Committee thanked the Governor for securing $496,000 for the school on Dikeman Road in the WOW neighborhood of Waterbury. The State Bond Commission will meet Friday, September 27 at 10:30 in Room 1E of the Legislative Office Building.

"This will have a profound effect on the children in Walsh School and their ability to overcome obstacles to their education," said Rep. Butler. "The funds will benefit both curriculum and on-site needs."
Rep. Berger, a founding member of the Connecticut General Assembly Manufacturing/Advanced Manufacturing Caucus that was created to emphasize and promote the importance of manufacturing in the state, thanked Governor Malloy for supporting $273,416 for W. F. Kaynor Technical High School on Tompkins Street in Waterbury.
"The funds for Kaynor Tech will be used to replace lathes and milling machines to continue to provide a top-notch educational experience," Rep. Berger said. "This is part of a bi-partisan effort to expand manufacturing and support the creation of jobs."
The grants-in-aid will fund upgrades including alterations, repairs, improvements, technology and equipment to help address building and site deficiencies, and to promote the health, safety, and learning of the students.
