WATERBURY NONPROFITS RECEIVE FUNDING

Waterbury legislators announced several Waterbury nonprofits have been selected to receive awards as part of the state’s Nonprofit Grant Program.

Central Naugatuck Valley Help, Inc., Connecticut Legal Services, Inc., YMCA, Waterbury Youth Services, Inc., and Staywell Health Center, Inc., received over $820 thousand under the latest round of awards announced by Governor Dannel P. Malloy.

"This announcement has been long awaited and is particularly significant in helping to support critical infrastructure investments for our local not-for-profit agencies that provide extensive services to practically every constituency in the city," said state Senator Joan V. Hartley (D-Waterbury).

“These non-profits provide a much needed safety net of community services across the City of Waterbury,” Rep. Jeffrey Berger said. “I will continue to support their important work and thank Governor Malloy for doing the same.”

“These Waterbury non-profits are on the front lines of providing services to those who need it most in our communities,” said Rep. Larry B. Butler. “I appreciate Governor Malloy’s confidence in Waterbury. His commitments encourage us to continue supporting their efforts.”

“Non-profits form the backbone of community services,” Rep. Victor Cuevas said. “These are well invested funds that will allow these organizations to continue to provide the help people need.”
