State Representative Larry B. Butler has been reappointed by Speaker of the House Brendan Sharkey (D-Hamden) to serve as House Chairman of the Legislature's Housing Committee.
The Housing Committee has oversight over matters relating to housing statewide and to all programs that affect housing in Connecticut.
"When people face economic hardships, finding affordable housing is a struggle," Rep. Butler said. "Housing is a basic need and government has a responsibility to do everything it can to try to ensure affordable, decent housing is within reach for everyone. I look forward to continue working with Governor Malloy through reinvestments across the state"
"Rep. Butler is a proven leader and strong advocate for improving the availability of affordable housing, so I'm very pleased Larry will be returning as our chair of the Housing Committee," Speaker Sharkey said.
Rep. Butler was elected to his fifth term in House of Representatives.
