State Representative Larry B. Butler (D-Waterbury) was recently among those honored by the NAACP as the 100 most influential black leaders in the state. The ceremony was part of the state chapter of the NAACP's 50th annual State Convention at the Hilton Hotel in Stamford.
“I’m honored and humbled by this recognition,” said Rep. Butler, House Chair of the Housing Committee. “The goals we accomplish benefitting housing availability across the state motivates me to keep working.”
“We are thrilled to honor African-American men and women in Connecticut who are making a difference in our communities,” State NAACP President Scot X. Esdaile said. “This convention will give us the opportunity to reflect on our important victories over the past 50 years, strengthen old relationships and create new ones as we prepare to continue to take on the constant challenges that face our people on a daily basis.”
