REP. BOB GODFREY RECEIVES DISTINGUISHED LEGISLATOR AWARD

Rep. Godfrey was recognized by CABE for his dedication, reception and willingness to advocate and support the initiatives and priorities of the association. “We are delighted with CABE honoring Rep. Godfrey; a longstanding supporter of education issues,” said Robert Hale, CABE President, as he presented the award to the legislator.

Deputy Speaker Bob Godfrey, (D-Danbury) was presented with the Distinguished Legislator Award by the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE), at a reception in the Bushnell Performing Arts Center’s Autorino Hall.

Rep. Godfrey, who was joined by his mother, Mrs. Rita Godfrey, said, “I thank CABE for this very special recognition. It has been quite a journey working on behalf of the children and specially advocating for education during my tenure in the legislature.”

“It’s gratifying to see that for the last 18 years the state has given more attention to public education and I am glad we are benefiting from the fruits of our labor,” Rep. Godfrey stated. As the legislator accepted his award, he also recognized the efforts of volunteers, parents and partners in education who work tirelessly to advance education and children’s issues.

Representative Bob Godfrey is a member of the Judiciary Committee, the Joint Committee on Legislative Management, and the Chairman of the Screening Committee.
