DANBURY LAWMAKERS HOST FORECLOSURE PREVENTION CLINIC
CT Fair Housing Center Presents Alternatives to Foreclosure
October 13, 10:30 am WestConn Midtown
Danbury State Representatives Joe Taborsak (D-109th District) and Bob Godfrey (D-110th District) will host a public clinic featuring foreclosure prevention options for homeowners sponsored by the Connecticut Fair Housing Center (CTFHC). The clinics will discuss available options to keep people in their homes while representing themselves through the foreclosure process.
The free clinics will be held at Western Connecticut State University’s Higgins Hall Annex, 181 White Street, Room 214, Midtown Campus in Danbury, on Saturday, October 13th from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
“Our housing market is still recovering slowly and many homeowners remain in difficult financial situations,” said Rep. Godfrey. “There are options available and we will continue helping homeowners who are struggling and work to keep families in their homes.”
“Our foreclosure clinic is free and completely open to the public. We continue to hold these events as an outreach effort to bring this helpful information to the people who need it,” said Rep. Taborsak.
The forum will provide homeowners with information about the judicial foreclosure and mediation process along with guidance on preparing for court by professionals from the CTFHC. Those in attendance will benefit from guidance by a foreclosure intervention counselor from the Neighborhood Housing Services of Waterbury, who will be on hand to discuss opportunities.
Additional information will focus on state and federal resources available to homeowners with financial difficulties, including, Representing Yourself in Foreclosure: A Guide for CT Homeowners, available in English and Spanish online at: www.ctfairhousing.org.
All area homeowners are encouraged to attend.
