State Rep. Bob Godfrey hailed House passage of HB 5386, a bill to reduce the incidence of chronic disease in the state and improve chronic care coordination.

Rep. Bob Godfrey said, "This bill reflects our new focus on preventative care and better management of chronic diseases. It makes the lives of those of us with chronic diseases easier, provides comfort, and lessens stress. Many of us have worked on this bill, including Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, who has led the charge on health care policy in Connecticut."
HB 5386 would require the public health commissioner to develop and implement a plan that addresses cardiovascular disease, cancer, lupus, stroke, chronic lung disease, diabetes, arthritis or another metabolic disease, and the effects of behavioral health disorders.
