Youth in Government is an experience in the State of Connecticut's legislative, legal and journalistic process. The process of developing ideas into legislation by writing bills, caucusing, meeting in committees, debating bills, lobbying, reporting on the process, voting on referendums and electing officers are all part of the total program. Students elect a Youth Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Speaker of the House and Secretary of State. Through this program, high school students actually experience the State Legislative process.
Youth in Government is led by Bill McNamara.
