REP. HADDAD JOINS UCONN STUDENTS FOR AN ACADEMIC
SHOWCASE AT THE CAPITOL

UConn students came to the State Capitol to advocate on behalf of the university and illustrate the many fantastic academic programs UConn offers. Rep. Haddad was happy to speak in support of UConn as both a graduate of the university and also as a legislator who represents Storrs in the Connecticut General Assembly. Some of the students taking part in UConn's academic showcase watched portions of the legislative session from up the in chamber gallery. Rep. Haddad was glad to welcome them to the chamber and introduce them to his colleagues in the House.

UConn students and Women's Basketball Coach Geno Auriemma came to the State Capitol asking that the legislature continue to adequately fund the university.

"I am lucky enough to represent nearly 13,000 students in the General Assembly and it is great to see so many of them here at the Capitol playing an active role in not just their university but the legislative process as well. I saw students today talking with legislators about why they love their university and why it deserves further investment. UConn continues to climb university rankings each and every year and will be many high school seniors' top choice this fall. We must continue to build on this positive momentum," said Rep. Haddad.

Rep. Haddad also spoke in support of UConn's fantastic academic programs, and its bright future.
