REP. MUSHINSKY ANNOUNCES IMPORTANT VETERANS EVENT

State Rep. Mary Mushinsky announces an important veterans event coming to Rocky Hill where veterans from across the state are encouraged to attend.

The program, "Stand Down 2009", sponsored by The Connecticut Department of Veterans' Affairs, is a day-long support services program for needy and homeless veterans.

Over 30 state, federal and community agencies are expected to be on-hand to provide direct assistance and resources to state veterans.

"I am inviting and encouraging all area veterans and their families not to miss this opportunity to learn about very helpful programs available to them," Rep. Mushinsky said.

There will be a shuttle bus available to those in need of transportation from Wallingford Town Hall (leaving at 7:00 am) to Newington. More information is available at 800-550-0000 x 5831.
