Wallingford’s Democrat State Representatives Mary Mushinsky and Mary Fritz announced that the State Bond Commission approved funding for two local projects at their Monday meeting.
Included on the agenda is $4 million for E-J Electric T&D, LLC and $275,000 for the Center Street Cemetery Association, Inc.
Funding in the form of a loan to E-J Electric T&D, LLC will assist the company with expansion plans into a new facility in Wallingford, while retaining jobs and creating more than 100 more jobs within three years.
“This announcement is good news for Wallingford,” Rep. Mushinsky said. “When a new project helps bring job growth to the state, everyone benefits and I am always pleased to see that happen.” Mushinsky also expressed appreciation for funds to assist the historic Center Street Cemetery.
The Center Street Cemetery Association will invest its $275,000 grant allocation to assist with construction of a new equipment garage and office building.
"This is welcomed loan and grant funding that is important locally," Rep. Fritz said. "The loan to E-J Electric will assist the company with their expansion plans while creating jobs and the Center Street Cemetery Association grant helps with vital construction improvements."
