Representative Christopher Rosario (D-Bridgeport) joined with colleagues in congratulating Iris Vargas for being named Connecticut's Immunization Champion by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) for exemplary work in promoting childhood immunizations.
"I congratulate Iris Vargas and commend her steadfast dedication to her work that has touched so many lives over the years," Rep. Rosario said. "Timely immunizations, along with effective communication with parents, are essential for the overall health of a community. We are lucky to have Nurse Vargas on our side."
Each year the CDC honors one Immunization Champion for each of the 50 states during National Infant Immunization Week. Iris Vargas, RN, a long-time member of Optimus Health Care's pediatrics team was chosen this year to represent Connecticut.
Rep. Rosario represents the 128th Assembly District and serves on the Appropriations, Energy and Technology and Transportation Committees. He also serves on the Transportation, Human Services and Judicial and Corrections Appropriations Subcommittees.
