REP. ROSARIO RECOGNIZED BY LEAGUE OF CONSERVATION VOTERS
FOR 100% PRO-ENVIRONMENTAL VOTING

State Representative Christopher Rosario (D-Bridgeport) has been recognized by the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) for his 100% support of environmental legislation during the 2015 legislative session.

“We often struggle as legislators to ensure that our communities are protected against environmental hazards that affect health, safety and overall well-being,” Rep. Rosario said. “As the Director of Blight Control in Bridgeport, and now also as State Legislator, I am always on the lookout to oppose bad, and support environmentally friendly legislation.”

CTLCV’s Environmental Scorecard assesses both lawmakers’ votes on environmental legislation and their roles in championing specific issues. Environmental issues this year included banning microbeads, encouraging residential solar, reducing pesticide use on municipal playgrounds, preserving the fiscal sustainability of state parks, open space and various clean water projects including the Long Island Sound Blue Plan. CTLCV Scorecards dating back to 2000 can be found online at www.ctlcv.org.

“Bridgeport has been a leader on sustainability issues in the region. A good example of this the implementation of our thermal loop will use the waste heat from existing power plants to provide low temperature heat to downtown,” Rep. Rosario added.
