Rep. Christopher Rosario (D-Bridgeport) is pleased $10 million in federal Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) funds were approved for the construction of Barnum Station, a new commuter rail station that would serve Metro-North on the east side of Bridgeport.
“I am proud of the work we did in Hartford to secure state funds for a Barnum Station which, in turn, has culminated in an additional $10 million in federal funds. This station will increase options for commuters and will be an important contributor toward increased economic activity. Bridgeport continues to make strides toward a better future,” Rep. Rosario said.
