REP. SANCHEZ RECEIVES COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS
Newly sworn in State Representative Bobby Sanchez (D-New Britain) officially took office at the State Capitol as a member of the Connecticut General Assembly and has been named to serve on three committees in the legislature.
Speaker of the House Christopher G. Donovan (D-Meriden) appointed Sanchez to serve on the Education Committee, Finance, Revenue & Bonding, and on the Insurance & Real State Committees.
“I thank Speaker Donovan for appointing me to work on these three important committees,” Sanchez stated. “It is exciting and challenging to start in the middle of the legislative session, but I am ready, committed and looking forward to doing what is right for the people of New Britain, and the entire state.”
The Education Committee deals with matters relating to the Department of Education as well as local and regional boards of education and collective bargaining laws covering teachers and professional employees. The Finance committee has authority over all matters relating to finance, revenue, capital bonding, fees and taxation, while the Insurance committee is charged in dealing with all matters relating to insurance and real estate law.
Bobby Sanchez represents the 25th Assembly District in New Britain.
